View Full Version : My new toy....86 350x

Well I finally got one. I've been shopping my Z around for a trade, but with no luck. So I sold the Z and took the money and bought this thing. It's in good condition. It has a UNI filter and a complete DG exhaust. The brakes didn't work when I got it, but five minutes and a little brake fluid later the front and rear braks both work:w00t: . It does need a little TLC, but nothing to major. I'm taking it out tommorow. I haven't got to ride a thumper on the trails in my area, so I'm pretty excited.

BTW, your topic is listed as a 305X. Please tell me you didn't put a weak Chevy engine in it. :lol:

i like the K&N on my 86 X, but im sure a uni will do just fine....great machines, im sure you will love it

Yes it was. I paid way to much for it, but not more than I got outa my Z;) .
I also changed the Title, didn't catch that one:lol: . That would be one bad X though.:naughty:

The one on the Z is. Me and my father made it, but the X is just a stock tank as far as I know.

honestly I have no real reason to dog em (so I guess I should just keep my mouth shut huh), but I have kind of a personal vendetta against them....they work fine I have just had the most horrible luck with cleaning em (sand). and I dont really buy into the two piece deal.

all the time and once i got a 2 stroke trike i just cant see myself going back to a thumper.

all the time and once i got a 2 stroke trike i just cant see myself going back to a thumper.

I started out on a thumper and moved to a pinger and loved it. I started riding more and more trails and just generally putting around, and the 350x blows my old Z out of the water for that type of riding. I still think my Z was nicer looking than the X I got now, but I like the thumper better. I'm also on the verge of getting my Tecate going so I'll have a good trail thumper and an all out speed demon in the Tecate.

now thats a hot setup always nice to have a choice, im currently thumper-less, but i wouldnt mind adding a 350x into the mix my old 200x was just to small for me after i got a taste of "pinger" lol. not to mention i had no more space for it lol

No I sure don't, but there is a couple of threads that are on here that you should be able to find. One is my thread on making that tank and another has a tank and deminsions that Chainsaw used on his drag Z.
