Got a few more steps ahead on the road to getting my R done. Still a long way yo go.
My wallet is my limiting factor right now. Hopefully by spring, it will be done.
I now have a complete new headlight assembly, more new seals and bushings, and ProTaper bars. Still need rear fenders, axle and carrier, calipers are junk from sitting, new rims and tires, ahhh..the list goes on.
Anyway, here is the latest pic.......

It always seems like a monumental task, but keep after it, and you'll have one sharp 250R when you're done.

Yea, I hear that! Well worth it in the end though. A little history on my R...........
It's an 86, and I bought it from the original owner, a friend of mine in 1991. So I am the second owner. He sold it to me when he went into the Navy for $850, knowing it was going to a good home, and that he would be first on the list if I sold it. It was in great shape back then, but will be even better now. It's gonna be kinda cool to jump back on the trike I bought my senior year in high school again, after sitting boxed up maybe 7 ot 8 years. I'm gettin' itchy to just slap it all together with what I have right now, but I am gonna be patient and wait and do it right. I was shooting for this winter, but I think it's gonna be more like late spring.:(

One of the most important things...while it's apart, replace all of the bearings. When I rebuilt my R about 10 years ago, I couldn't believe how great it handled with new bearings. I just rebuilt my R again and I feel it all over again. The tight bearings make you appreciate how well the R was put together in the beginning. You're right....be patient. It will pay off. You will be very pleased with the result. Good luck and great progress!!
