im getting an 85 bigred 2day and it runs awsome it needs the 1 way bearing tho for the kicker :twisted: but when u try to go in gear the rear end just whines like a howling noise any ideas?

could be a nad centrigugal clutch / or could be the plate style clutch - either or both could be bad - or you may have a smoked tranny.
