I am going to be getting a 84 200x that runs good. But the timing chain is noisy :(. The front fender has a chip out of it. The rear is trashed. No smoke. Shifts fine. Stock everything. Seat is perfect. New rear tires. Breaks all work. For around $525 Does this sound like a bad price? I am wondering, you should i worry about the timing chain being noisy and rattling? Also doesnt some year rear 250r fenders bolt up to it? If so im going to buy a set of them instead of new stock ones. Can i bolt up 350x tank shrouds to make the tank look a little better? Anything major to worry about. Let me know guys! Thanks alot!

Just adjust the cam chain. It's simple but it's been so many years since I've done it that I won't try to fumble my way through an explanation.

85-86 250r front fenders bolt right up and look awesome. The rear fenders do not. Think you're stuck with 200x fenders there.

Maier makes "super scoops" for the 200x that will probably get you the look you want.

As for other things to worry about, there's nothing real specific. Just the normal things like check the bearings, shocks, brakes, the usual suspects.

He is a guy on hear he says bearings are nice and tight. He says its a real nice tight 200x. here is the ebay link but the buyer didnt pay so im gonna pick it up.

I think ill mess around with my 350x tank shrouds on it once i get it. Im sure i could make a couple little brackets to use 350x tank shrouds.. He says shocks are perfect. So do you all think 525 is an OK deal or no

Well I paid $300 for a total basketcase so it doesn't sound like tht bad a deal I suppose. A noisy cam chain isn't good news. Probably means it's stretched and wore out. try adjusting it first. The 250R fender will bolt up to the forks.. I've seen some folks on here running them on their X's. (not sure if you have to redrill the holes though) The tank shrouds have diffrent mounting holes as well So I think you may just be better off gettin some superscoops for that badboy. The only other problem I can think of on the 200x's is the kickstarter gears are weak.

Geez... Looks like some of you guys type faster than me..

Ok. Yeah i dont care that it is noisy really, i just don't want it to stop working on me. My Xr100R was really noisy but never let me down. So im not to worried about it. I would rather buy a 200x rolin frame for like 200 bucks and buy a brand new lifan engine. But o well i dont think this engine will stop runnin i hope not.

I dont think its a good deal, the 84' will probably get pushed aside by you because of two things, the 350X is a way better trike, and the 86 200x surpasses the 83-85 200x in a few shapes and forms. i would take the 525, and buy race cams for both of your current trikes.
