yes, the 86-7 200X's had six speed transmissions. it looks like it has a kawasaki headlight assembly, not sure what its off of though.

Yes. That is a square tubing frame, which means its an '86 or newer.
And yes.. 6 speed tranny.

Yep its a 86! Got the square tube framing, and if you say its a 6 speed, thats the key!

Nice deal on that! 86's are a blast to ride, you will love it. Treat her right and shell treat you right :)

Post the VIN number and we can tell for sure.

Looks like an 86 though. The headlight is wrong. Looks like a Yamaha Tri-Moto headlight. Either the fork downtubes have been painted or they came off an older 200x (they aren't supposed to be black). The front fender is either aftermarket or it came off a 350x. It should be white. Tank decal is wrong.

Thanks my friends... I have my old 1983 185s up for sale now... runs excellent, no cracks in plastic, only problem is there are no rear brakes:wondering , the front brakes work great though I just took off the exhaust the exhaust baffle off of the 200x. Shouldn't hurt it should it?

Did you remove the entire muffler or just take the packing out? Removing the muffler sometimes can cause a loss in power. Removing the packing out of the muffler doesn't really accomplish much except pissing off your neighbors. On a stock bike there's no point.

How would removing a muffler reduce power? What if you just have a pipe with a spark arrest? Would that reduce power?
