is it true you can put a CR500 dirt bike motor in a 250R frame?

Yes Sir, you heard it right....i believe someone if not more than one person has done it thats on the board here....i know you have to do some modifications to the frame.....but i dont know what else....ill let the guys that know more post.

Its far from a quick swap........but its been done time and time again. One of history's greatest conversions for sure.

will see i have a complet frame and all i need is a motor but my frieng crashed his 2000 CR500R so i think im going to buy his motor and put it in the ATC250R frame

Sounds great for wide open areas but that kind of power is somewhat unmanagable. My CR250 smoked 500's all day long on a track merely because they couldn't get the power to the ground. But if you can grab it cheap have a ball!!

IMHO I think the CR500/ATC 250R conversion is best suited for sand dune use. Anywhere else I think a modded 250R would be better. I bet that 310 kit would be a runner.

will im in sacromento cail adnd there are no dunes here lol but see i dont have a motor in it so i cant do the 310 kit.
