something went serously wrong with my electronics or something, my spark timing is totally off, anyways im going to assume the piston was on the compression phase and the plug fired and shot the piston back down shattering my connecting rod bearings. i had to drive it home like this, the spark firing when it wanted to and shattered bearings, i havent ripped the motor apart yet, but i know the spark is off and there is a serously bad bottom end knock and it refuses to revv (or to produce any useable power)
just my luck too right?
im sick of this trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro

Looks like youre getting as fed up as I get sometimes with these old trash trikes. Jsut remind yourself of the fun you have riding and that, one way or another, youll have that fun again.
Take care, Eric,

Rob, how about those new junk golfcarts? My bud just bought '00 300ex(got rid of his '86 200x for it  ) from local Honda dealer 1 1/2 mo. ago and when we were riding last Sun. topend started knocking pretty bad. He drove it home and took it to dealer Mon.. He got call today(will be down 2 wks.+), cam bearing let loose! They can't find 7 of the ball bearings. You know what that means  crack the cases! Quoted him estimate of $1500.00! He had paid for 50/50 warranty so it would have cost him $750.00 but the owner told him since he just bought it, his share would be $500.00 (still sucks!!)
Now maybe I just got a "good" old trash trike (pd. $750.00 for it 3 yrs. ago), but have put my money into customizing my sx 8) how I want it! Besides normals like: brake pads, cables, shaft boot.
Just my story!

Ya know, we all love our trikes but - they were only about 2000$ new back in the 80's. And were willing to spend at least that to fix them? But in the end they're still an 85,86 etc. Yes I agree there is nothing like the fun of a trike but sometimes ya gotta say screw it and get something newer.
I wanted a dirt bike 7 yrs ago - found an 86 RM125 for 500$ sounds great right! Well first was the suspension 300$ then a tire and chain and sprockets 200$ and then the motor 800$ and last lets make it look like a new bike 300$. In the end I spent about 2500$ to build a nice 86 RM125. Which I could sell for 1200$ At that time a 1993 0r 94 CR125 was 2500$ - 3000$ and I still had an 86 suspension, handling and motor:rolleyes:
