Finally got my 90 started and ran real good. got home after about an 8 mile ride and parked it in the driveway to cool off. When I came out I noticed a small puddle of oil under it. The puddle was twards the back of the tranny. It lost about half the oil in the machine. It had sprayed on the tail pipe and on the iside of the back tires. It must have been hitting the chain and or the back axle. I am guessing their probably is a seal or gasket there that i blew out. am i correct?
How much would that cost to get fixed and how hard is it to do it for someone who isn't so mechanically inclinde?

Thanks guys I love this forum and have pointed a lot of people this way and hope to see them here soon.

Thanks again guys!

Your drain plug isnt loose is it?........Sounds like a pretty severe oil leak.....Could be easy but, on a 90 For someone who isnt mechanicly inclid it could be a Bugger.....

no the drain plug isn't loose. I thought that too so I checked it and it is snug and dry. It seems to be leaking further back.

Wow this 90 is giving you trouble! Anyways I dont really know the configuration of a 90 engine but is it coming maybe from a loose side case cover or something? You could try putting a big piece of carboard under it and start it up once filled with oil again to see where it drops I guess....

I would say the chain has run high on the front sprocket and made a previous case repair come loose or fall out. Some people use silicon or metal paste to temporarily fix cases where the chain has broken them. You will have to take off the sidecovers and take a look.
