messing around with used carbs finally found one that doesn't leak, put it all on and its fouling under heavy throttle, Q is which screw should I start adjusting first?

like its fouling at full throttle? if so then your main jet is too big. If its at idle there is a screw underneath the carb, up front. adjust that one way till studder then the other till studder then find the center.

Idle is perfect..it's drivable, but fouling every time under full throttle...looking for advice!

Are you sure that your carb is clean? By fouling under throttle do you mean that it is stuttering, or what? Is there black smoke coming from the tail pipe, that is one sure sign of an engine getting to much fuel. You might want to take it apart and blow your main jet out, there could be a small piece of trash that is blocking fuel flow, not all of it but enough of it to keep it from running right at wide open throttle.

yeah, like it's not getting enough fuel..it will cruise o.k. but WOT she sputters alot..hope I don't have to buy another new carb..hoping to make an adjustment but don't know where to start.

Have you ever cleaned a carb before? If it is just trash then that is all its needs, you wont have to replace it.

nope never cleaned one, have 2-200es's and just bought a new carb for the other when it went goofy, works great now, this one ran good but leaked fuel so I broke out my used crap...up here on holiday and trying to get it working..no biggie, have four other Honda's that run.

You might think about finding some one local that can give you lessons then, it will save you alot of money in the long run. Where did you get the new carb, and how much did it set you back? I also have a 200es and all the plastic inside the carb is rotted out, wouldnt mind having a new one to replace it with. I have a used one on the way, but a new one is even better.
