Are you using coolant and have to keep refilling it?

Step One - Change the oil and take it out and ride it. Step two - check the oil again and see what it looks like. If it looks good, keep riding it and keep an eye on it. They probably drove it through a water crossing or something. If its all gray again, amnd you havent driven through water, you need to replace the coolant pump (impeller) seal. If I remember correctly, on the Honda the impeller and bellows seal are all one unit?

Here are the seals you need to fix it. They are not that bad in price.

like said above though, keep an eye on the coolant too. if it keeps dropping you know it's getting into the motor and shouldn't be.

Do like tim said, although, may take up to 3 oil changes to flush out the first batch of water that was/is in there.

Yeah not expensive but they can be an pain in the arse to get in and out  . After you take the right side of the case off, i had to use a torch to get mine out so don't try and pry it!!! Put the new seal in the freezer and the case in the oven for a min or two then the seal will slide right in!
