Well like I said in an earlier post that i got a 200x for $400 and the resto project has started. I didn't get a lot done, but I spent at least about 8 hours this weekend messing with it. I got all the plastics removed an saved the parts that were good (mud flaps). I removed the skid plates (engine and chain/sproket) and the chain and sproket one is trashed. I got the engine skid sanded and primed (only going to rattle can this). I removes the exhaust cover and started to sand that, but I need a sand blaster really bad.

The frame has been a huge worry for me, but I had my neighbor, who is a welder by trade come by and take a look at it and said he would grind it down and re-weld it the right way for me for free. I still may bid on the ones I have seen on e-bay just to not worry about it. I checked all the brakes and they all work very well and the lines are all in tact. There are no leaks anywhere so that is a good sign. I need to find a new head light plastic cover and order all new plastics from Meir and order new handle bars and grips and a new pipe.

For now my goal is to get it all taken aprt, clean/paint what is good, make a list of what needs to be re-placed and take my time. I also have a 200m I am trying to restore for my girlfriend to ride, but that is a night mare. At least that runs strong and is in good shape, the plastics and tires are trashed and thats what I can't find (not tires only plastic)

Just an up-date, I got the bike running strong and am now in the proccess of ordering and finding all the parts I need. I won a head light cover on e-bay for $31 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=180006990267&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT and that should be here soon. I am also bidding on a frame since mine has some booger welding that worries me http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=130008619062&ih=003&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT. Once I know I have the frame won I will begin to strip the bike and get everything ready to swap over to the new frame. I am also getting a nice dent-free tank from someone on this board. The parts hunt is going great and it should be completed in the next few months.

All I will need to do is get new plastics from Maier and I also want to get new rims and tires. What rims should I look for that will fit the 200X? I want all black ones that have the bead-lock look, but not sure on the bolt pattern. My colors will be all black frame, rims, forks, handle bars and all the plastics and tank will be red. I hope it comes out nice.
