what ever u use clean the matirial with laquer thinner ,or a good thinner
the new paints out are pretty good if they have a clear in the same kind of paint
the clear is like a plastic over the paint, just make sure it dries for a few days

try to stay away from paint on plastics, looks fake chips, gets bubbles, scraps off too easy. the best thing to go is get some nice grades of sand paper some beer, and some water and a bucket and get to sanding and wet sanding. Then take some clear coat paint and hit it up will come out 10 times better than paint.
go to chainsawgraphics.com he might be able to help.stay away from spray cans.ugly

CLEAN well with something like Prep sol. It's a prep cleaner and will take all the crap off you don't want on there before a paint job. Make sure you where gloves the oils from your hand will effect the paint job. Then spray an adhesion promoter,
then a plastic primer, then use a base coat- clear coat. I used Valspar and give you a link to some kits they have. With this you don't have to put a flex agent
in it. You can bend it twist it. Ask Moshman he can tell you flexable his plastic is.
If you only follow one of the things I've said make sure it is how you prep it.
Good prep= a good paint job.
yes listen to hindee29.he did my banshee plastic.it turned out awesome.i will try to post a pic this weekend

DO NOT use a spray can on your plastics or any other part of your bike. It either fades off or flakes off. If you want a good job done that will last a while, paint it with a spray gun by a compressor. Sand down your fenders(with 400 or 500 grit sand paper or a rougher grit, depending on the scratched in your fenders), then spray on primer for plastics and then spray on your paint, then spray on clear coat(for the shine and protection). I did both my past 200m's like this and the paint stayed on perfect. It was only last year that the paint started to flake off of it when my buddy bought it, and the plastics were painted 6 years ago so it held up good. Also like hindee said, you obviously have to clean your fenders before you even touch the sand paper on the fenders

I thought I would chip in here as I restored up some plastics not to long ago..
First of all start off with a coarse grit sandpaper to get all the scratches out. Now use some wet & dry to make the surface even again. This is time consuming but well worth the end result...
After youve done that shoot some clear coat on your plastics, and they should look pretty good.
These are the plastics I did:

here is my banshee tank plastic that hindee29 did for me.it used to be yellow plastic.turned out real well.he used a plastic flex agent i think.but any way you can twist the plastic all around and the paint bends with it.he does nice work i think.i have knicked this paint with screwdrivers and still has no chips or scratches in it.it has been real durable so far.
