doesnt the year have to do with the number on the frame?

Ya, look at that and as for fuel/oil mixture im not sure about the 125's but I know the 175's are oil injected. If yours is not or has been taken off I run eaither 20:1 or 32:1.

The 125's are also oil injected, and work pretty well, but I dont trust them. A mouthful into tank is cheap insurance, and a great Mosquito repellent.

Ya, I took the injection off of my 175 also, I feel safer that way.

Take the plug out---put your finger over the hole tightly, and give it a rip---it should "PUFF" past your finger.

look under the front forks. there will be a sticker there that says "this 19__ yamaha blahblahblah, meets emission requirements. " but the year should be there if the sticker is.

4u3-----= 1981 YT125H

The larger "Thumbwheel" screw is your Idle speed
The small screw is idle mixture----
It should be lightly seated and turn out 1.5 turns.

I will almost make "Book" ---Your carb needs to be cleaned

yea weve cleaned it numerous times...the float was sticking and thats why it wouldnt start but we got it cleaned up really good so i think the idle speed and mixture screws probably just need to be adjusted. thanks for the help on the year too!
