Are Fork Boots A Must??

I dont do any dune riding and i dont ride through much mud, so would not having fork boots on hurt anything? Thanks

Not really..

Keep the tubes clean, and watch rocks if you follow a crowd.. but you can do without... tho they are still a good idea !

Personally i think it's better to do without than keeping torn boots on there.. if they are split and get full of mud.. it keeps the crud on the tubes at all times vs washed off at the end of a ride.

Yeah boots keep the seals in better shape not to mention the dings from roosted rocks. Are they a must? No but you may get a lesson in shock building 101... $20 bucks could save you alot more $.

Yeah, unless you ride ONLY sand I wouldn't recomend it.....

I rode for many years in Ohio with no boots on my 200x and no issues at all. As long as you have good wipers in there the only thing you have to be concerned with is rocks dinging up the chrome (and that never happened either).

The ones I have now are ok but they look a bit rough. Is there any type of fork boot that can be installed with out removing the fork tubes, something with velcro maby? One of the bolts is stripped and i am not able to remove them.

No. You have to remove the forks to change the boot. Only alternative is to throw some shock covers over the boots.

Maby I will just cut them off and put those Lizard Skins on them.

Yeah, unless you ride ONLY sand I wouldn't recomend it.....

I have a 350 with a tear in both boots...I ride ONLY in sand...would I be aight for a bit taking them off until I can get a new pair. They do seem to catch and hold the sand. (Completely OEM too).
