I was looking at the products Powroll is putting out for the 200X and it looks like they would make it a screamer!Right now I am buying a 1985 frame for my 200X so I can hopefully ride it this summer.Anyways I also have a job over the summer working at a garage so I am going to probally save most of my money earned and put it into one of my projects.My other project is a 1995 250R dirtbike and I was wondering which you all would use the money for.Building up stroker 200X and clean it all up nice or continue my 250R project.I have big plans for the 250R including a big bore,porting,powdercoating, etc. but I was thinking the 200X could probally be completed quicker and plus it is a 3 wheeler :TrikesOwn but are these performance parts even worth it on a 200X?Thanks for the help in the decision guys.:beer

i disagree...my 200x goes right to about 64mph and i think with a bigger carb and no silencer...i could push 65+

I'm running(from powroll) the midrange cam, 198cc kit, 10:25:1 wiseco piston, springs. That is all from powroll. I also have a port/polish, XR carb, cobra pipe, uni filter, and some other little secrets.

EDIT: Then again, the CR250 will always be faster...

I say do the 200x, I'm gonna do my 200x nuts, its becoming that way, it started today with a wider axle 49", next short track tank, then stroker motor and it already has a 84r front end and works rear shock and some performce stuff done to the motor. Before today it was a multi-terrain and type of riding bike, but soon it will be for mx and flat track and only short course use.

so are you going to cut the tank in half and shorten it deathman? Then move the mounting points in the front forward on the tank or backward on the frame?

I'm not sure, there isn't too much that needs to be cut out. I know what my stock and spare tank are perfect and those are not gonna get cut and welded. a 83-85 tank would be a better canidate, but I don't like how the tank is too wide and high when modded to fit on a 86, a 86 or 87 would fit better and be less work. Then my options on what kind of shrouds to use comes into play, I have 83-85 200x super scoop, 85/86 250r short track, 350x super scoop, stock 350x, and I don't know what will be used.

I've never seen any good pics of your 200x. Got any? I saw a couple action shots but it was mostly from the front or behind instead of a good profile pic.

i say do the 250r the 200x suspension cant handle much more than stock power imo.

do the 200x, you wouldnt see many around like yours, plus people will *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* when you smoke a 400ex.

Yep, definitely gonna find out what a stroked powroll 200x is like. In fact I started the first part of my build. :D In pure Muddy200x fashion from the top down :D

I would first ask how big you (The Rider) is. The 200X can be surprisingly quick with a smaller rider on board but you simply can't overcome physics with a large rider aboard.

I would say if the rider is 150 lbs or less to go with the X and 150+ go for a 250R.

also to asist you in the build that a 350x suspesniosn goes onto a 200x. I have 84r/350x front end on my 86 200x and its alot better than the stock forks, and the works shock is better than the stock shock. I would leave the motor alone and work on the chassis first, 350x suspension, exteneded axle, 18" wheels, new bearins throughout the whole chassis will make it feel like new bike. Then work on the motor.

Well I pretty much decided I am going with the CR project since now I have to part my trike.My dad said I have to get a car so I can drive myself to work next year so I made a down payment on one from a guy I know and I am gonna be paying it off this summer.I decided to keep the 250R since it would be faster of course all though I wish I could get a liquid 250R trike.Oh well I guess.By the way I am about 135 pounds so I will really fly on the CR.lol thanks guys.I figured if I had three wheeler people saying keep the 250R then I better do it.I wish I knew how to convert it to a trike tho.Anyone know how to go about it?

I suppose a good shot of nitrous would work but it's just a dream and a race against a stock 400ex otherwise.

iv seen 2 built 200x's both in quad frames that have smoked everyone in the pro am class. mac mohr built both motors and they were sick!!

well had had both motors built the first was a 85 200x with the dule spark plug head by tc racing and it was still a 200cc ( no stroker) i know this cus my brother ended up with this bike. nastyest 200x ever! except for macs 2nd bike it was a 86 x motor with all the goodies and i think it was a 240cc.

anyway just because you never seen a 200x kick real ass doesnt mean it cant hapen

If you're talking to me then I already know how great they can be. Mine cleaned up all kinds of machines after I worked it over but the 400ex engine is basically the same design but 200cc bigger. It's fun to dream but reality can be a real stinker some times.

FYI I would build another 200x, they're real fun and light and I really miss my old one.

Is that a westcoast swingarm on your X? If so who fab'd the shock mount? Our shock mount broke @ Haspin so we need another.:beer

It's an extended stock swingarm that has been done in a unique way. It's made from two separate swingarms that were cut in two different locations. Doing it this way leaves only one seam. It's very strong and is a good alternative for those wanting a westcoast or calfab swingarm.

I also make shock mounts but I don't know if they will work on a westcoast
