View Full Version : HELP Can I fix this Coil???

I was working on the Tiger today and when I went too start it no spark. so I tracked it down too a broken plug wire . but this type coil does not screw in its fixed in too the coil at the factory . I know I can buy one but would be late thursday or friday before it shows up. any way too fix this till after Trike fest :( :( :(

so what are you gonna do now dale? could you possibly solder another one too it and tape it up????????????

Use a different coil off of a Honda or somethin ;)

Is it epoxyed in? If so you can cut the expoxy with a Knife and work the old wire out...put a new one in and hot-glue/epoxy it in..

I will order a new one I tried too use a bosch set -up (standard can am ) which is a lot differant. but too no avail so tommorrow we cut this up and see if we can fix the kokasin type

Bro, shoot me a picture of it. It possible I have a coil at the shop. Also, 6v or 12v?

I don't have a voltage system diagram its a cdi to a coil only doesn't say if it's 6 volt or 12 volt I tried 5 differant honda coils too no avail so I know this is a good coil just a bad wire will be slowing cutting in too this and fixing it

I forgot the pic also this is smaller than a honda coil. a honda will not bolt up correctly

That looks just like a Z coil. Ill go grab a pic of mine for you, This coil came from Howdy.

yea I have coils from honda's yamaha's and suzuki and kawasaki here None is close too this and they wouldn't work I cut back the plastic resoldered the plug wire and epoxied it in place waiting on it too set up keep your fingers crossed
