Hey,
I have to get a flywheel off of a 250r 1984 and I can do it. If you suggest using a puller I will drive down there  , I don't have a puller, what else can I try? Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure how a R is set up, but on a 200x you can use the swing arm bolt or the front axle, just thread it into the threads on the fly wheel and tighten until it pops off.
If the motor is out you might try holding the motor up by the flywheel (so all the weight is on the flywheel), and either tap the flywheel or the motor with a rubber mallot, have something soft ready to catch the motor.

the puller is $15 at the honda shop or any cycle shop. the flywheel is big $$$$$ so dont be stupid. teh axle bolt trick will not work.

I went to pick up a puller at the store, cost me 10 bucks, thanks for the help. I tried the rubber mallet and figured I was just going to wreck it, been there done that, wait a day and do it right. Thanks

yeah, for once i agree with basket. I'v done it before without pullers, but i won't try to influence anyone to follow the ways of the young and poor mechanic (myself, though im getting some real tools nowadays).
for 15 bucks, its a fine deal.
