Just picked this baby up over the weekend. It's a 1988 Cushman Haulster/Truckster. It's 3 wheels, and a fully hydraulic tilt/dump bed. Going to put it back on the street, Dr. said I shouldn't be riding anything like a quad or motorcycle again, so this is the next best thing.

You'll have to run around town writing tickets and collecting mail :w00t:

Looks like a cool Cushman. My budy just picked up a '53 Cushamn Eagle scooter and a Trailster.

I'm not supposed to. I have messed up my back pretty bad. I have a nerve in my back that goes to my leg that is currently being crushed by a bulging/blown disc. So I have nerve damage among other bulging/blown discs. Of course there are other things wrong. I am actually trying to find a honda odyssey or similiar since I should be able to ride one of those if I take it easy because it has the full seat to it.

Wrap yourself in mattresses and find an oddesey or pilot so you don't hurt your back and you can still ride. Back injuries are the worst, take it easy so your not slowly crippling yourself......

For anybody who is curious, this Cushman has a twin cylinder opposed engine that is 22hp, it is a 3 speed manual with reverse "H" pattern, which took a little time getting used to because you use your left hand for the shifting. It does have heat and it does have a defroster. Air cooled engine of course. The doors are jeep style meaning they are removeable without any tools, and the windows are sideways sliding glass. I like the idea of the mattress and the odyssey, the only problem being is that a mattress is easy to come by and odyssey's are not, people think that basket case/missing main component odysseys are worth so much more than they really are.

Being someone who has owned an '85 oddy and still ownes an '89 Pilot I'd say save your money and only get the Pilot. The suspension on the oddy's, including the '85 FL350 is not very good at all. To make it ride like a stock Pilot you will need to spend about $1200(or more) for Works shocks w/ rezys all the way around.

Go here for Pilot/ody info

Pretty sure there are two on evilbay right now w/ $3999 and no reserve. That is a fair price.

The '85 is the only Ody w/ any real suspenssion to speak of. It is a J-arm type suspenssion like the old VW bugs had. Beats ya up pretty good and throws the ass end way up and almost over if you hit whoops at any speed.

Best thing to do is buy it and find out for yourself if you can find one. Be ready to get those Works though.:)

DZ...put that 600RR motor in that Cushman! Give the thing some suspension and be prepared for a wild ride!

Jason, sent you a PM. Thanks trike dude for all of the input on the odyssey/pilot. Storage and that kinda money is a problem for me right now, so my focus is on a odyssey 250-350. I need something that I can move myself and I have a smaller trailer 5x8 that a pilot may not fit on. I am not going to be hardcore riding anymore, so suspension really wouldn't be that much of an issue for me except for comfort/stability. My buddy's dad has a place up the mountains over 40acres that we ride on and most of it is trails with some flat land.

No problem.

If you get one or want to know more about them go here

www.pilotodyssey.com

There are a few simple cheap mods that you can do to the FL350 to make it run better. I don't know to much about the pre '85's as I have never owned one but the guy who runs the site is very knowledgable on the early ones through the Pilot and gives out all the info(usually w/ pics) you could need for free. There are several guys on the boards there also that could help out a bunch as well.

You can see pics of my '89 Pilot here
