Edit: you know it appears this seller only had the one dvd available. If someone bought one from you and decided to sell it rather than keep it, there's really nothing wrong with that. Am I missing something here? It was even sold at a loss. If copies were being made and sold that would be one thing but that doesn't appear to be the case.

This was a pure conterfit DVD auction. They had 5 copies available. To top that off read the description:

Well I kinda sort of had something to do with it. I had someone make me a copy for someone but it looks as if they made a few more. I talked with them and their reasoning is they seen no copyright on the disc or cover. If you look at the auction it is ended and will not be relisted. OK,, let the battering begin! :wondering

But even making 1 copy for someone else is wrong. It was done to get around buying another copy. To me this is wrong. Heck I bought 2 copies ( One for me and one for the shop/Pickle ). I could have just bought 1 copy and taken it to the shop and play it there, but I decided to buy 2 copies and help the site. This is above the $800 I have pulled out of my pocket in the past 3 weeks for Trikefest.

Maybe we should make this a Pay as you go web site. This way the cost gets spread around.

I personally do not have an issue with a copy being made, as long as you arent making dozens of them and handing them out like candy or in this case making money off of it. I download and copy music all the time but I dont reburn it and sell it anyone else. I guess thats where I'm coming from.

i was the one that took the footage , i let billy sell them to help support the site, i dont want them to be on the "blackmarket", i might not release my tapes this year because of this, billy knows about this one, this is why there is a 6 plus hour video of trikes from the 80's that only about twelve people in the world have, because some people will do anything to steal someones work and try to make a dollar

Well maybe you guys should have your stuff copy righted in the future to protect yourselves. I see copies of movies on ebay all the time. Like stated before I had no knowledge of this until this morning. As soon as I seen it I PM'd billy and told him who i suspected it was. I have nothing to hide.. Why would I rat out myself? They havent' sold any or will be in the future. So as far as I'm concerened its a done deal.

Why is every one jumping on chris? He did what he could. Ok so he copied a DVD for some one. Just like Billy said he downloads music as I'm sure many of the people here do. I know I have some manuals that were not bought fro Honda & I know I'm not the only one. I can understan why 3ww isn't happy w/ it. They are trying to make money for the site. You should copy right it next time. If this turned into a pay site I think alot of people would go else where. What about a sponser? Technically speaking, something is copyrighted as soon as it's created. Take original music for example. As soon as you record it, it's copyrighted. Registering the piece with the library of congress is not required by law for copyright protection. All that does is basically put a verifiable time stamp on it. Anyone selling copies of someone else's work just because there's no copyright notice on the packaging doesn't know the law very well. You can still end up in deep **** for it.

And people need to lay off Chris. He's one of the sites bigger supporters and did what he could to correct the situation. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people getting on his case have never made a donation to the site before.

Some way of raising a little money for the site is being discussed. For you who havent donated yet, the guys who run the site are paying money out of there own pocket to keep it here for you. Its not much to send over a few bucks here and there when you get some change from an ebay deal or something else.

I know this is not true. You have to go through all the legal steps necessary to properly copywrite music. Just cause you throw it on tape does not mean it is yours.

I do commend Chris for being upfront on this. And yes Chris you have donated to the site via a couple different ways. And we do Thank You for that!!

I know I have said this before, but I will say it again. If every user donated $1 per year the site would have enough funds generated to get a much needed dedicated server and other stuff.

I know quite a few users that use this site mainly for selling stuff. Most of these user have never donated $.01 to help.
Yes, I sell stuff on the site as well. In the past 2 years I have made around $1000 to $1500 on here. During this same time I have donated all that PLUS more back to the site. I can't do this forever though. We are looking into other ways to generate some revenue for the site. We will do what is needed to keep it going. Updates will be posted as we decide.
