I sold one to aguy in texas for 500. he came to maryland to get it. eh, i should say he sent someone in one of his trucks to get it. If its in good shape and doesn't need alotof work then $450 is fair. They are fun little bikes.

I think you should go and get it, I used to have one, I think it was a little older, but they are built strong and they are solid. Id say go for it

Looks like a good little trike but check it over good first.
Check all the bearings, brakes, cables. Are the hubs & axle straight? Much play or slop in the shifter, brakes or steering head? Lights and switches work? Any shadetree mechanic work on the electrical? Forks Straight? How's the chain & sprockets? etc. etc. etc.
If it runs good like you said & you answered yes or no appropriately to all of the questions above then I'd buy it. Offer him $350 or so and see what he says.
I'm not real sure, but it might be older than 85. I thought those nonsuspended 125s were made earlier, like 80 or 81.:wondering

I would definetly offer lower and see if he bites. My Z was selling for 850 and I spent an hour or two talking to the guy and then offered him 450 and he took it without hesitation. Always do a thorough check like Freewheel suggested, I acctually had a spreadsheet done up for both atv's and one for trucks, the check lists help keep my head out of my ass when i am looking at a good deal. Dont be afraid to offer a lower price at first, never hurts to pay less in my opinion. I would, just by looking at the pics offer him 250 first and then go up from there.
