A guy at a local cycle shop I get parts from said if I put 2 head gaskets on my 250r will raise compression. It seems like it would lower it.... What do you guys think?

Dammit!

2 gasket will reduce the compression and a 89 cr250r gasket will raise the compression. the atc gaskets are thinner than trx gaskets. Your parts guy need to learn more about 250r's if he is gonna give advice like that

So an '89 CR250R head gasket will work on an '85 ATC? I had a CR gasket here (might have been a little newer than '89), and it was extremely thin and the coolant passages were very different. ANybody use a CR gasket in an '85 R?

Sounds like if you add two head gaskets, you are bound for top end failure and looking at a massive leak/warped head.

two head gaskets won't do anything but lower compression,,, thats all,,, on a water kooled a 89 cr 250 head gasket will give you a little more compression,,,
