okay we figured out what the problem was, the oil chain came off and hit the timing chain causing it to jump, anyways my question is can i buy a link for that chain(same size as timing chain) or do i have to buy a new one?? How much might one cost??

Thanx

Oil chain???? I'm aware of a drive chain and a cam timing chain, don't know what an oil chain is though.

Regardless, whatever chains, wherever - they fell off or jumped for a reason - are they stretched or do they have a weak tensioner??. Chains are just a bit cheaper than a set of valves and a moshed piston. Get a chain and find the problem.

I have a good used chain and oil pump sprocket if you are interested. How does $10 plus shipping sound. Email me at boatlove@optonline.net if you are interested.

On 86 and 78 200x's the oil pump is driven by a chain just like the cam chain only shorter.

I think my brother just bought that entire chain new for 18 bucks, his was loose and he didnt' want to take a chance. I'd go new, it's not that expensive
