i'm sick of my suspension. i don't know what's up with my 200x shock but it sits WAAAYYY low. like with my 18's on it, it looks like a TT racer. is one of the years for the 200x shock longer/shorter than the other? because i have an 83 and i think the shock i have might be off an 85.

but anyways will a 350x shock bolt right on? i figure that would give me an extra inch or so that i'm lacking in the rear.

I would rebuild the shock, you will see a big difference.

it's not so much the bottoming out part that i'm worried about it's just that it sits so low. and it's fully extended. besides i think mine was recently recharged before i bought it. it seems to be in good condition

that helped for the most part, but i have an 83 swinger (the tubed one). so i can't really change out the linkage. is there anyway i can just bolt it onto mine by grinding down a certain part or adding washers somewhere? thanks

I think it is probably just the tires that makes it seem like it is sitting so low. I have 18's on my 350X with the shock fully extended, and it looks way low. Try putting 20" tires on it and see if it makes it look better?

nah, i had 20's on it before and it still sat really low.

so i just went out and measured the inside of where the shock would connect to the linkage on both my 200x and 350x and both measured about the exact same. why is everyone saying they won't fit? i don't get it. if they're about the same in width it should bolt up fine, and i'm sure they use the same size bolt

IMO if your going to put a 350x shock on your 200x you should also swap out the front end too. With the custom mount the height of the rear is increased, so by only doing the rear it would make your 200x look like it had air shocks on it. :D Anyway, you probably already read all that stuff in the thread that I linked. About the mount, I just happened to be cleaning out my toolbox the other night at work and found enough parts that I could make probably 2 without a whole lot of work. I work night shift so I'll check again tonight and see what all needs to be done to get a couple of them completed.

Was there anyone else that was wanting one?

Hey... I got a nice 350X rear shock listed on ebay right now... it'd be a good one for you! Have a look see in the classifieds.... ends tomorrow night and no bidders as of yet.
