It is a ratio between the volume of a combustion chamber and cylinder when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke, and the volume when the piston is at the top of its stroke. The higher the compression ratio, the more mechanical energy an engine can squeeze from its air-fuel mixture.
Just so you know, you can get the exact data from a ATC repair manual.
A stock 200M would be between 8:1 and 8.5:1
A 200X is around 9.6:1
the higher the compression ratio, the more power you will have.
a stock 200M will have a small concave or "dished" area in the top of the piston
a 200X piston is flat or has a small dome in the top of the piston or "domed"
thats the only difference
