View Full Version : How do I find out the year of my 200X?

The one I am talking about is the one I was going to custom the 250R engine into which some has been done but I am going to reverse it and put a 200 back in if I can find one.What i need to do is find out the year.Cant you tell from the vin and isnt the vin located on the front of the frame?If so I have some paint to be removing....:cry: Thanks.

It's on the front by the neck. If the frame is all round metal then it is a 83-85 if it has some block metal then it is a 86-87.

Okay i just went out quick and took the paint off it and found the numbers.What confuses me is how do I know which one means the year?The number is JH3TB0525EC324393.I believe the EC means 1984?Thanks for the help.

Where in Upstate NY are you? I am just east of Syracuse in Chittenango and have an extra frame if you need one.
