I have a book on how to do it .I did it like the book said, now i have no spark. It has a new top end(piston,ect..)It ran fine for a year ,then it would bogg down going up a hill .I thought it was the points ,because i had not change them .I took them out and they were worn,so i replaced them.I cleaned the carb out,now gas leakes out the over flow tube that comes out of the carb(where the bowl is)I also took off the coil and wire brushed the metal parts so i would get a good ground. Is there a trick to set the points on these things, and how do i set the float with out a gauge. If anyone can help me out it would be great ,my son is not happy with me rite now.He thinks i won't get started again ,please help me.Thanks........svo58

The timing is a tricky thing on them.....just tough to reach to set.....did you replace the condenser as well??.......keep reaching in there and try the points at different settings.....you will get it right.....its a bit of a pain to keep putting it back together to try but be patient......if you follow the book with a tester like it says it gets you pretty close .....good luck with it.......pulled my hair out for a while with my son's a while back......:wondering
