Is my 350x rear sprocket supposed to be more to left than the front causind my chain to go a little diagnol, Do i have some aftermarket bearing carrier.I read that if you have onestar carrier on an 85 X, yur supposed to use an 86 X sprocket..Is this why. Will this affect my 350x. What can i do to fix it? I dont have my X hear to take pics but i have a few old ones...

it has something to do with the countersunk screws used to bolt it on or something like that. pick up an 86 sprocket and all of your problems should go away.

So i apparently do have an aftermarket carrier. Picking up an 86 sprocket will do it though? Thats good. If its true then ill pick on up pretty soon

First,if you can get a closer pic of it,it would help.It looks to be aftermarket. If you have a big gap, then i would think the axle isn't slid all the way over before you tightened it all down.I know with the lonestar carriers you have to use the 300ex/250x sprockets and hardware i believe.I've always seen 350's with the opposite problem. On mine and troll's,we had rad carriers(double row for an 85)and dura blue axles(85).We both had rubbing issues. He said the tapered ones are a little more tricky. The solution-throw some spacers on the axle.On the 86 carrier,it's wider on the chain adjuster part than the 85,that's why they went to the sunken bolts.

Its happened to me, your axle is sliding out to the left side. Tighten the axle nut on the brake side and it should suck it in.

Help!!
I am having the same type of problem. I just replaced the original bearrings and carier on my 86 350x w/ ab aftermarket unit. The part that has the grooves and allows you to tighten the chain is a quarter of an inch thicker than the stock set up. Needless to say, the rear sprocket looks to be offset when I put it back together. In addition, I am having trouble getting the new carrier to spin to tighten the chain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris
