The day started out with me working on my new aluminum tripple clamps when UPS pulled up about 11:00AM with my new Roll Design/IMS stainless steel heavy duty footpegs that fit a trx250r. I then hacked off the original peg mount from the Tri-Z mounting plate.

I attempted to create an all new mount out of 3 different pieces of plate but after about an hour and half worth of work I scrapped them because I was not happy with them. After that I attempted to remove the peg mounting portion from a 350X foot peg and re-weld it onto the Tri-Z footpeg. It took way to freaking long to get off and when I did I found that due to the shape of the Z mounting plate and what I had cut off there was barely any weld surface, so that got shitcanned too. At about 4:30 I started on some new mounts using 2 pieces of angle iron. First one had the hole for the pin drilled in the wrong location, those got chunked. Second set came out good.

I then spent another hour or so trying to figure out how to get them posistioned properly and tack weld them in place before I removed them from the frame and totally welded them. I put a block under the front tire, a jack stand under the rear axle on one side and a floor jack on the other side because I couldn't find the jack stand. This got it high enough where I could roll my welding chair over to it and have enough height to use the pedal for the heat control. I tacked it on each corner and then pulled it off and welded the ever loving hell out of it (I hope it holds, cause if it dont I'm in for a world of hurt). I welded inside and outside where the |_| shaped mount welded onto the Z peg plate. I double passed the outside. By the time everything cooled and I re-mounted it, it was around 9:30 tonight. Right side tomorrow! :w00t: :w00t:

I also got my Aussieduner black plastic today. Airbox cover, and the shrouds. They are extremely high quality, very nice and glossy finish. I dont think I can swing a new set of front and rear fenders before TF but hopefully sometime soon after I can.

Its still pretty ugly, but not bad for a "rag" I pulled out of a guys garage with 2 junk dirtbikes for $75 a few years ago huh?

nice looking, welds look good!! Just out of curiosity, why are the pegs movable?
I mean from the factory, why do it that way? It just doesnt seem to be enough movement to be of too much use....Dave

I love the way they look. My concern is that you re-used the original mounting plate. That 3/8 steel plate seemed to be the very part that bent on all my Z pegs. Now with more leverage, I'm afraid you may still end up with droopy pegs. But they looks SWEET!

Thats the only thing I'm worried about... and if they do start to bend again I've got an idea and way for a 3'rd reference point to keep them from twisting.

I like them!!

FYI, It's better to have the pegs bend then to bend the frame. Just my 2 cents.
