I just rebuilt the top end on my 86 350x and It seems really hard to start now. So I was thinking that I would go throught the obvious stuff. Valve adjustment, carb settings, good spark/plug, decompressor adjustment ect.... but the more I have thought about it I dont think my decompressor is working correctly. I did a search on the forums and found a post by 350XinNY saying a shop had installed his 180 degrees off. My question is when you kick the decompressor it should do what? I am not at home to look what mine is doing but I am pretty sure i am on the right track. I think mine is easier at the bottom of the kick? Should the decompressor lever push forward at the start of the kick? or at the end? or does it pull the lever? :wondering

the lever by the kicker needs to point forword and the cable pulls it down as you kick

its ether on wrong or needs ajusted...i just built a high compresion ( 11 to 1) 350x and it kicks real nice with the cable ajusted right
