Would a 1986 cylinder work on a 1985 motor?? Yes or no, and why?

no, two completely different engines all together. the internal and external deminsions are different. cylinder design is way different between the two. one noticable difference is the intake port, 83-5X's intake is on the right side of the cylinder(sittin on bike) and the 86-7X's intake is on the left side.

I think the bore and strokes different too.
