Crankcase Oil Level

OK, newbie question, from what I have read here on my 82-83 Yamaha 175, you fill the crank case with oil till it runs out the oil level bolt on the side of the cover??
Am I right in saying this, any comments will help.

Yes, keep adding until it comes out the bolt hole.
