Piston Crack!!! :(

I knew I was going to have to rebuild the Z motor at some stage, but I hadnt quite thought it would be this soon.


I was taking the topend off to find out what piston I was running. When I got the topend off I found the big crack in the piston skirt.

Im gonna replace the piston and have it bore the right size over to make the cylinder the right size again heh.


My question is, was this a stock Tri-z piston? I thought Z pistons have ports in them.......

looks like a oem piston to me... wiseco has ports Man dude you caught that in time!!!! that could have been a mess!

I didnt go in looking for the crack, Just because I was a little bored haha.

I dont have a spare ride :( so no riding till shes fixed, but Im not able to take it out over the next few weeks because of exams anyway.

Thanks on the pics :). You should be able to make trikers out of them yet ;) Hopefuly there will be a second ride like that with pics soon.

On the wrench report, Im not sure im going to do it right away. I can always take the topend off again soon and do it. I really just want to get it back together and running as soon as I can.

I was saying to you at Petes about how it was an old old piston haha. Next time I come up ill probably be breaking it in.;)

Other then the piston, nothing much has happened. And i cant go steaming into getting her fixed either :'( GCSE's coming very soon!.

Hopefully we can have another ride as soon as there done with ;).
