has anyone ever straightened a dx rear axle if so any input would be appreciated which equipment is used for this

unless you have the axel straightened by some one who has all the proper tool it will never be the same and you will probably end up buying a new one any how.

Rite, this question was up here before a few weeks ago! The info I gave, and most of the folks gave was firstly to use heat on the axle, making it a tad more flexible, if it can be described as that. Then you're gona need a big chuffin press, and a guy who can use one. Try your nearest engineering workshop. Failing that, its back to the B.F.H. again buddy!

Never use heat!!! Doing so will remove the temper in the axle, and it's the temper that gives the axle it's strength. To staighten, you must use a press and blocks, and ideally an dial indicator to check the out of round.
