I’ve just finished a complete resto on my 86 250R. 2 kicks and it fired right up. I let it warm up and started to rev the engine a little. It seemed to act as if the spark plug was fouled. I changed the plug with another and the same thing continued. I pulled out the coil and measured the primary coil resistance and got 0.8 ohms. The manual says it should be between 0.1 and 0.3 ohms. Could his be my problem?

Also maybe a crack in the timing plate!

So my new coil came in the other day and I installed it last night. I fired it up and still the same thing. It would start and idle just fine but on top it would run like the plug was shot. As I was rolling it back into the garage I thought of something…The air box lid…I pulled it off and she lit right up.:w00t: I cant believe that all this time it was only that. I should have known better…I’ve got a 40mm carb and a Duncan pipe. The thing has to breath.
