I am almost done doing a minor restore on the 84 tecate i bought. What i can't figure out is when I pull on the clutch handle the cable will move the arm on top of the bottom end that it is conected too, but that arm won't return on it's own power. Just wondering what I have to do to fix it. Is there a spring some where or something. thanks

The movement of your clutch basket is what returns that arm to its resting position. HAve you had the clutch apart?

No I have been trying to avoid taking apart any of the bottom end, but it might look like I have too.

Sounds like the clutch basket has gouges in it where the fiber plates move back and forth. Going to have to take it apart to find out. If it is then you just file down the roughness and be done with it.

some t3 clutch set ups used a short push rod and ball bearing.if you have a short push rod without the ball bearing, the lever would not return right.

the clutch springs are compressed when the clutch is pulled in and are what force it back when released. If the springs are broken or missing it would do what you describe.
