ok i am trying to get my rear shock set right. it is a 1983 200x. i got the blue spring shock on it. when i sit on it the fender is like a couple inches from touching the tire. the shock is good, i switched it out with the original blown red one.

how many adjustments are there? just rebound (black dial at bottom of shock) and preload (the spanner nut) right?

i am about 6 foot, 175 pounds.

if anyone is about my same weight can you measure from the top of the shock threads to the spanner nut to give me an idea of where to put mine?
i got mine about halfway now.

what rebound setting do you guys like also?
i got mine on 1 (fastest) rebound setting, the others seem way too slow.

See at a 6" 175 lbs you are just to big for the trike.

You need to find out what works for you.The spring put pre load on the shock. The dial is for rebonding. It depends on what kind of terrain you will be riding.

Tighten up the preload till it doesnt sag more then an inch or two from full travel when you get on it.

Do you mean the Blue spring and the Red spring?

Spring tension is the difference.
