Differences between 2 stroke and 4 stroke carbs?

I'd like to know what the differences are. I hate this carb on the 350X but they all seem to be the same way. Why would the 4 stroke require a butterfly?

4 strokes dont require a butterfly.

by "butterfly" do you mean the plate for the choke? if so it is possible
that the carb you are looking at has a different type of block off
plate, like a sliding one instead of a butterfly, or like my 2 stroke motorcycle
the choke lever activates an additional jet that richens things up just for starting.
you could make the four stroke run with a carb with like this, of the correct size.
