the chain is rubbing across the top of where the swingarm bolts onto the frame.Im looking to put something there to protect the chrome.I really need to ride this weekend, and dont have time to wait on a new custom type chain tensioner.Any ideas on what to put down under the chain? Someone said neoprene or leather, but any help would be great. Here is a pic27897

Can you post a picture of where it is rubbing? That might help us come up with something.

If your really in a pinch.....I have used Wire and cut up a Winshield washer Bottle....wrap it around the top of the swinger then wire/clamp it down.....

Thats not that bad of an idea!I thought about a piece of leather, but didnt know if the chain would tear it up quickly or not.It looks like I'm gonna need a custom made something on this swingarm. Its one of many problems to work out, when going to a muck longer and tubed swingarm!

Is there enough room to take a piece of rubber/nylon hose and split it and hold it on with hose clamps?

You need a high desity neoprene. I have some stuff that might work.

a thick chunk of puckbord would work just fine too.

take a old snowmobile wear rod from the track and cut it and drill and rivit it or bolt it on drill them deep so the bolts or rivits dont weare on the chain, you can make it as long as you want and they should be plenty wide and you will get quite a few out of one pice

Dammit!

A stock chain guide doesn't fit on there?

thats the down fall to a longer arm,, you really need a adjustable strut so you can get the swinger angle down a little ,, that will help alot and it won't set so high in the rear ,, it also helps with the tight chain lose chain problem when the suspension works,,, :D :D
