frist thing to check is ,,is this carb for a 4 stroke or is it off a 2 stroke??? they are different internally .. they can be converted

How do you convert them? I'm trying to get a 34mm Keihin PJ going on the SX. Worst part is trying to make it start and idle, other than that it seems to work well the rare times it starts.

It shuoldn't matter if it's off of a 2 or 4 stroke, it can be dialed in to work good . You will probably have to change th main jet, pilot jet, and maybe the needle and nozzle tube, and maybe the slide valve(cutaway) With patience, and proper tuning it should run good!
