I was just reading a post yesterday about how you start to work on one small thing and it turns into a full blown project. Well yesterday afternoon I was walking through the garage and noticed how nasty my header and exhuast looked. So I was thinking I'll just pull them off, clean them up, shot a little high temp paint on there and it would look nice for trike fest. Well need less to say an hour later my engine is in the garage floor. After i pulled the header i noticed the flange bolts are rusted and the treads mostly gone. So I decided to pull it and fix the bolts and check up on the piston and rings. Its been getting a little smokey and hell I have six weeks or so till Trike fest so why not. :wondering

Questions.

1. Are the flange bolts( the four that hold the header on) are those threaded ?

2. what do you all think about the rebuild kits off of ebay? $199 piston, rings, gaskets, new jug. I think you have to send in your old jug or its a 50 dollar core charge.
