Well guys my Z almost went missing today. As some of you know i just got out of the Navy and am hanging around Norfolk to get some pay issues resolved. Well most mornings now that I finally get to sleep in I take the opertunity and enjoy it because once i get back to Mississippi stuff like that wont be an option. Well my roommate called me at like 0700 from work, and told me that he had seen a couple guys snooping around my Z, it is on a trailor that is hooked to my Bronco for the long haul home. So I got up and grabbed my insurance policy(the .45 caliber one) and headed down stairs to take a look. I never figured anyone would try to steal my trike, with no fenders, seat, or headlight it looks pretty rough. Well what do I see when i open the door? Two guys in sweatsuits trying their damndest to get my trike off of the trailor, kinda hard to do with that rear end locked up with the disc brake lock I put on there. They saw me and my insurance policy and took of like rabbits. I called the cops and then went to see what kinda damage they did, supprisingly there isnt any damage. The cops didnt find them but i filed a report anyway. I think I may camp out on the trailor with it tonight, just me, my trike, and my insurance policy. Just the thought of it makes my blood boil.

i had my 200x stolen back in the early 90's, thought it was gone for good. was really bummed out. so back then i was fresh outta high school, living with my dad, so he decided we'd go do some used atv shopping thru the want ad digest. went and looked at a few different 200x's, all nice bkes, but not mine yah know. anyways, there was one for sale not even 15 miles from me and we went to look at it. wouldnt you know, it was my 200x. played it out all non chalantly with the guy, said cool, i'll be back with the cash. returned with the cops, proof of ownership from the vin number, and bam, i had my 200x back and the guy that had it said he bought it off a kid like the week earlier, lets just say he got slapped with a nice "possesion of stolen property" charge. lol, idiot never even tryed to scratch off the vin or my name scratched under rear fenders. what a *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**E dited*!!! wonder whatever happened to him, hahahahahaha!! hope he got really aquianted with bubba his cell mate.

You know what the worst part of the whole thing is? If he would of shot the guys, he would be the bad guy! The world is so screwed up, you can't even defend your own property any more. If more citizens could shoot criminals, then there would be no overcrowding in the jails and the criminals hopefully would think twice. The criminals have more rights than the victims. I'm just glad you caught them and you didn't get hurt. I interrupted someone trying to steal my neighbors 4wheeler. I knew the investigating officer, and he remarked to my neighbor that he was surprised I didn't shoot the person. The person fled as soon as I saw him out my window, or he would have had a really bad day.

I would have poped off a round or two but we live in a condo and i dont think the nighbors would have appreciated it. I am pretty sure they did see my insurance policy, it was kinda hard to miss. I still cant believe they tried it myself, my only guess is that they live right around here and were just going to push it home and into their back yard. All i know is that now not only do i have the disc lock but a Kryptonite chain on the front all through the fork and rim. Those Kryptonite chains/locks are freaking bullet proof. My roommate is from Poland and he always picked on me for having so many guns in the house, until now. I never go without one here in Va since it is legal to open carry here, that is the only good thing about the whole state.

I keep my trikes chained together even when they're in my locked garage. You can never be too careful.

Now THAT is a good idea. I keep my trikes locked in a tin sided shop, but if I locked them all together, that would slow any theives down a bit more. My insurance policies are a Shepard/Akita mix and an M4. I am going to lock them up right now. Thanks for the idea.

We simply lock both garage doors and the main door, and turn the petcocks, gas caps, etc off on the trikes.
Personally, I would have let them take your trike (not let them know you were watching), and shot them in the ass after they got about halfway down the road with it.. lol. That way, you would have an excuse and they would no longer be bothering you.

I had a guy come up to me after work one day because he saw my 200x in the back of my pickup. He said it was stolen and wanted me to give him the VIN. I told him to get his VIN and then I'd compare them. Two days later the cops came to my house to check the numbers. I told the cops to go ahead and check them. I have the title and after the cops checked the numbers they called the guyb other guy and told him mine was not his. The guy still did not believe the cops and had to come check the numbers himself.

Even if they had gotten it off of the trailor they wouldnt have gotten far, I had a Disc lock on it. It is basicly a padlock that locks onto the holes in your brake disc, it will go all the way around then you are out of luck, the back tires are locked up tight and the only way to roll it or drive it is to take the lock off. I am glad that I am headed back to the Great State of Mississippi this week, cant deal with the scum in this place much longer.

Problem is, if you would have "popped off a few rounds" that you would go to jail, if you were to shoot them you would go to jail (cuz you didnt have a reason to fear for your life). And if you were to just shoot, you own whatever you hit, so if you hit someone or something, you would have to pay dearly for it.
I do understand the frustration in the judicial system as I have seen tons of cases that the victim was charged, instead of the criminals. You also have to remember, is a possession worth taking a human life for? If your life (or family or friends) are in danger, I beleive 100% in taking action that might lead to fatality, but not for a worldly possession.
Oh and congrats on getting out of the Navy man, I work for the Dept of Defense in Millington TN. We are the Navy Personel Command, maybe you need to talk to some of these folks here in HR, since they do most of the payment stuff haha..........peace

Good thing you caught them before they did any damage scottzj.A few of my friends got alot of there stuff stolen from jerk off's around here, but here in alabama alot of people don't really try becasue most of us (Including me) has a gun or some sort of weapon. And a llittle off topic but 2 weeks ago my mom found a dog on the road and so picked it up and we made sure we got it better then we gave it to my sisters bus driver but, some people in a white suv stopped and took it off her yard and now my sister is sad because she wanted to see her this week:cry: .

I too just recently had a HUGE scare, I was at work and my neighbor saw two men pushing my trike down the driveway, and realized they are't my frieneds. He yelled and they ran faster, they he came outside and they ran leaving it in the middle of the road. He pushed it back up and called me.
The attempted theft doesn't bother me, my trike saving saint of a neighbor who is a senior citizen, just got out of the hospital 3 days prior from a major opperation, and we all know how hard pushing a trike can be untill you realize you should push it backwords.
If I could meet them I'd give them my trike, shortly after a brutal ass beating, I don't take kindly too people causing hardship to elderly or children.

I wouldn't of!
Think about it, they are on the trike and you shoot.
Either:
A. You hit him, he falls off and the trike tanks another car/tree/pole/anything.
B. You miss and hit the trike.

i agree ...id do the same for my dog
now about insurance...wont home owner insurance cover it if your garage or shed burn down....or a 3wheeler was stolen from them....cause my mom keeps saying are home owners insurence covers it
xd 200x
04-28-2006, 11:20 AM
not covered for theft ,maybe from fire by home onwers. and not covered by auto insurcance if you crash you trailer when hauling. atleast thats how state farm does it. yours might be difffrent. It is important to put a value on it when you write the policy.
My mom is a agent so I have insurance on everthing I own

I just called my insurance company. They are not covered under my homeowners policy and to insure them would cost $200+ per year and he said it wouldn't even be worth it because they would give me so little for them if anything happened.
Lock them puppies up tight folks!
Edit: by the way, they won't cover the trikes if they're assembled but they will cover lose parts. Hint, hint...

One night, i had someone try to steal my 200s from the back of my apartment, and they pushed it some 100 yards, but couldnt start it so they just left it there. I was angry but, i sure showed them! Sure enough, they just didnt have that 'half-fixed ATC' rope pulling power. Made me want to sleep on it the next night with a billy stick
Now i've come to just lock them (200, 250sx) up to a pillar of the building with a 2000lb chain.
