Can somebody tell me if I'm measuring deck height correctly... I am running a straight edge thru the middle of the cylinder and measuring up to that point from the top of the piston at the top center of its stroke... Someone was asking me the deck height running the jet ski piston on the air R... Figured while I'm taking it off might as well measure it... Am I doing this correctly???

As fas as I am aware that is the correct way to measure the deck height. why are you doing it? to work out the compression ratio?

I'm selling a extra 300r cylinder on ebay and was asked a question on what the deck height was installed... I'm pretty sure thats what he was wondering... it got me curious also since the piston I was running is off a jet ski if I should be running a higher octane... I do get a little blurb wide open, but I know I'm running rich...

I have done it by putting a pice of soder between the head and jug and putting it together and kick it over and let the piston smack the soder then take the head off and mesure it with a mic. you get a better #

the solder is the way i do it too just make sure you don't use acid core it will eat the piston and cylinder
