250sx help

I have a 86 250 sx and im having trouble with the kick starter assembley, i removedthe right side engine cover and the 2 out side gears look ok but i cant get the kick starter shaft out to look at the ratechet and springs, what hold's this in or shoud it just come out?

I just replaced the sprag clutch on the same side, I had to remove both clutch assemblies to remove and replace the kicker shaft. Its not a difficult procees believe me if i can do it any one can. Make sure you are careful when removing the kicker shaft there is a washer at the inside end of the shaft that, if your not carefull can drop into the gear box below. Yeh it happened to me!:wondering When putting the kicker back in I put grease on the end and it held the washer on while putting it back in.
