is there any way to get teh top speed of a 225 dx up a little, i know its a shaft, so its not as simple as changing sprockets, but is there a way?

i got mine up to 56mph, but that was with a car driving beside me and i heard thats no accurate, anyways i still had room for more, get an performance exhaust and that will give you some advantage. maybe chang your gearing?

Im running a 225 diff along with 25" tires and it sucks. Theres not enough power to spin the tires.

i dont want to put on 25 inch tires, im most likely getting 20's, and just want to get teh top speed near stock or higher, im probably getting a pipe, wiseco piston, and maybe a cam for it. how do i change my gearing?

There is no other way to change the gearing besides tires on a shaft drive.
Well...no practical ways.

mine has an increase/decrease screw on the right side of the motor. i can adjust mine to have more top speed or to have bottom end. id try that

That screw is to adjust your clutch when its slipping.
You turn the screw in all the way until you feel slight resistance, back it out 1/8th turn. Then tighten the locknut.

That is NOT to adjust your top speed or bottom end .....

maybe your clutch was slipping so it felt fast but slow, so when *Edited* increased it it grabbed all the way and then you felt the real speed, without the slip. i head somone say changing the actuall gear inside the tranny? idk if its possible.
