So, I'm replacing the base gasket. I have disconnected everything I need, I have enough clearance. I start to pull up it's just about to come off, and the jug is getting hung up somewhere on the piston. :wondering Any tips as to fix this. I've been spraying WD-40 all over and rotating the jug back and forth while lifting. I'm hoping I'm not catching a ring on the port. Any tips? Any other reasons why it would get hung up? Oh yeah, it isn't seized either. Anything is appreciated

A ring probably just caught on a port somewhere, look around your intake and exaust and see if you can see a rind hung up somewhere.

So if indeed it is a ring, do I just use a screwdriver or something to push it off what ever it's getting caught on? I don't really want to damage anything. If I have to, I might just pull it off breaking a ring in doing so and order another ring - I do want to avoid that route

Push on the ring with a slotted screwdriver, i put blacktape around the tip when i did it on a suzuki 125.
