Well I have bit the bullet and have ordered a Clarke Plastic petrol tank for the bigred. Thanks to Ric at ATCHEAVEN! I have done a search on the quality and experiences of people on these tanks and have read a bit of information but as time goes on more and more people have experiences with these plastic tanks.
So people please share your experiences regarding clarke plastic gas tanks namely for the 250es model. Bad or good experiences???
Cheers
Matt

They work just as great as any tank and you dont have to deal with rust issues. The problems that I have seen with mine and others is: 1. they eventually fade a bit, but using plastic restore works great, 2: is that the side panels never seem to fit 100% on them. But if you can deal with that, you will love the plastic tank. Oh side note, get you a vent hose too (like the sport trikes have) cuz bouncing around, the gas will tend to come out the top with no hose.

Hi Matt, You won't regret a plackie tank mate. I put one on my old Super red and never had fuel issues again.
My Clarke tank did come with a cracked cap which required a bit of plastic welding but it was a simple fix.
Plus you can swap to a different cap if you need to because there are heaps around that will fit the new thread.
there is a metal bar that comes with the tank also. It is a cross brace and it fits underneath. Don't forget to fit it
