A fun ride is to take your favorite hot rodded ATC 90 or 110 motor and bolt it up to your favorite ATC 70 frame. I'm about 250 lb and a 70 won't haul me around real well, but I like the size. The 110 does an excellent job though. I got one and am debating on doing another.... haven't seen anybody on the board with one, if you got the bikes it's a fairly easy swap and fun to do.

New to the site, and love it!! keep up the good work....

I always though that the 110 motor was longer and would interfear with the front tire? Guess thats not the case? I had a 110 with hi/lo range that'd be pretty cool in a 70.

I'm sure everyone remembers the picture on the old board of the guy from Australia that had the modified 200X motor in a 70 chassis. I bet that was a wild ride.

Dont know how you get the longer heavier engine and gearbox to fit the 70 frame and make it retain its strength. Do you have the bracket at the top end of the engine aswell.

Surely the axles and chain tensioner will get too much grief with the bigger engine.
will the electric start 1984 125m engine also fit.

We have fitted a 90cc version of the 70 engine with raised compression and it is more than quick enough for a 70.

What if you put 70 wheels and a shortened swingarm/forks on a 350x? would that be even better?

Will snag the digital camera and make pictures sometime. The bike's in storage in my dad's barn, got to make room in my garage for it.

110 motor is longer but will fit, you can use the bottom hole in the 70 frame, re-drill the frame for the top hole, and don't worry about the mounting hole on the head. We (friends and I) have not had strength issues yet. No jugs falling off or nothing....

Better to re-drill the 70 footpegs and bolt 'em to the 110 motor. 110 pegs are too long for the frame, stick out past the axles....

Also the 110 and 90 use a 420 chain, I believe, while the 70 uses a narrower one?? But the link length is the same, so just use the 420 and just let it be a little too wide for the axle sprocket. Somebody may correct me on this though, it's been 10 years since I done this....

Seems like my cousin who did the first one (he was a Honda tech for years) said a 125 wouldn't work for some reason, motor sat too flat and wouldn't oil right or maybe too long? Also seems I remember we over-filled the 110s since they sat flatter in the frame....

200X on a 70 ... wowww.....

atc 70 with 200x motor. Somthing I just noticed is that the frame looks lengthened infront of the gas tank. And it appears that the clutch cable goes on the other side of the motor?

That's my 70 with the modded 200x engine.
The 90/110/125m engine uses a 428 chain. All 3 engines fit with no problem. No oil problems or anything. You are best off using the stock 90/110/125 pegs. Nice and wide and a little bit more leg room.
Another good mod is to remove the 70 axle bearing carrier and fit a 90/110 axle carrier. You get to use the wider axle, bigger bearings, solid bolt on aftermarket rear sprockets and bigger brakes. The axle mod is a half hour job with no welding. Just three holes to drill.
I have 3 125m conversions. One has a TRX125 engine complete with electric start and reverse. People get a buzz seeing a 70 going backwards!

Greenhuman -- I'd definitely get a buzz seeing a 70 in reverse. No more Fred Flinstone wear your shoes out stuff....

Whadda you do with the reverse lever on the TRX swap? I know where there's one that set up for a few years, might get it for cheap. What about the axle carrier swap, just holes to drill, but does anything have to be cut w/ a torch? Are the brake parts part of the carrier? Haven't had a chance to look, but that sounds cool too....

I tried the 110 pegs, kept hangin' em on trees and stuff. The 70s are a tad small with the wider motor, but they work OK. Thanks for the correction on the chain size.

86 200X -- swap the whole thing. Bottom ends and all. Won't exactly bolt right up, got a hole to drill. Then it bolts right up....

Will pick Cuz's brain, find out why he sez (wrongly) a 125 wouldn't work. Maybe he was thinkin dirt bike or something. Nobody around ever owned a 125M 3 wheeler to donate the motor.

Y'all are great, keep it comin'! Gonna get me in trouble fer sure!

a friend of mine put a 125m motor on an old 70 trail bike the only problem he had was that the rear tire was too skinny and would brake traction easily
