I want to get a clutch kit for my 85 250r and noticed that it has different plates and springs. The plates are the same as the others though.

Will all the water pumper 250r's clutch plates and springs work or do I have to get the 85 stuff? The 85 kits are harder to come by.

I have ordered the lifter update kit as well.

Thanks guys

I have an 85 and I used 86-89 250r cluth plates, I also still have the 85 cluth pressure plate and such too. I don't know why they list them as different. I used stiffer cluth springs too.

all 250r clutch kits from 85-89 are exactly the same the fibers and plates never changed. the only thing that changed was in 89', the clutch release mechanism change from rod-and-ball to rod and needle bearing. if you have an extra 60$ call up NAC's and order a clutch update kit, well worth the money.

What does the new lifter kit do?
Right now mine doesn't engage until the lever is almost all the way out, and I have no room left in the cable to adjust it tighter. Its not the cable that the problem, thats just how little movement is needed to engage the clutch right out of the tranny. The clutch feels great, but is there any internal adjustments I can do to give me a little more pull?
Thanks
