need ATC70 valve clearance specs!

please explain..

piston at top - goes down the intake valve opens stroke 1
comes back up as the intake valve closes comression stroke TDC? stroke 2
goes down again - power stroke- stroke 3
comes back up releasing exhaust - ( also TDC ) stroke 4

when you adjust the valves do you do it at TDC between strokes 2 and 3?
book says at tdc on the compression stroke.

i just did this and - when i turn over the piston 2 strokes to get to the top of the cycle - the rockers are loooooose! when it comes back around to tdc of the compression stroke they are on the money.

is this right? thanks

ok- im an idiot - thought the intake valve was the exhaust for a min there HA HA

now i got it right according to the book - but at the top of the exhaust stroke the intake valve is not fully closed. ev erything else checks out - and im baffled. doesnt sound right........

UPDATE - doesnt seem to matter about the intake valve - it runs - so maybe its normal
