tecate gas tanks sure look better painted. tank can be sandblasted with fine greendimond sand. then paint it with industrial acrilic urethane it is gas and alcohol proof. three coats color and two coats clear work well. i painted my tank three years ago ,it still looks new.

really? where can you get your hands on that kind of paint though? do you use the industrial acrylic paint as a base like a primer? and paint over it or what? i heard you can use this stuff called kreem on the inside. not sure how it works, but if any one knows please, pass on any info you have.

Forrest paint co in Eugene Or. 97402 [ phone 541-342-1821 ] makes a acrylic urathane base paint for heavy equipment. the green is[ 35UN1511 GREEN]. it is good paint. when plastic is sand blasted it leaves a fine fuzz like velcro, once its painted it does not come off.:Bounce the paint can be sanded and buffed out .did not have to mess with the inside of the tank.
